hello peeps! I'm back again! temporarily only. I haven't took my shower actually since 6pm. hahaha.. what the heck.
anyways, today I'm back with more on My Randomness!! episodes, with today's episode entitled "When You Say I Promise". honestly this has been one of my most favourite topic to discuss about since it has something to do with the lives that we live in.
alright.. so.. about promises.. has anybody in history hold on to their promises? I know a few.. such as God, Jesus Christ, Prophet Muhammad and a few more known peeps. but other than these real honest dudes.. have you ever keep all your promises? I'm sure it'll be a no. well, there are some who never make any promises in his/her life at all. if I ever meet such a person, then.. you're cool. haha.
okay.. before I go any further, let me get clear with the meaning of the word "promise". a promise is a commitment of a person to do or not do something. other than that, it is also known as "oath" or "affirmation".
now that's clear, time to move on. erm.. when does a person make a promise? well, as we all already know, a person makes a promise when he/she is confident that he/she can maintain something or their actions for as long as it takes.. examples like:
- I promise to stop smoking
- I promise to stop taking drugs
- I promise to stop watching porn
- I promise to stop drinking
- I promise to stop being an ASS
hahaha.. yeah, those are some examples.
moving, promises are also often used as a confidence booster. to me, this is one of the positive promises a person can make to improve in many things.. examples include:
- I promise to study hard and score straight in SPM
- I promise to train harder to score gold in sports
- I promise to improve my attitude to become a better person
- I promise to stop being a DUMBASS
......=_="
anyway... other than that, we have the religious promises! one very common promise is that the person swore to reject all evil and will always follow the teachings of their respective religion. just like the time when I received Confirmation in church where I swore to reject all things related to evil.
and finally, the most common of all.. promises to friends. this type of promise, to me, is the most sensitive of all other than religious promises. it is very easy to make the promise, but the hardest when it comes to living up to the promise. you all know what I mean right? sometimes it is good to make that promise with your friends that are very close to you. it makes relationships more interesting and better.. or.. worse. there are times when you make a promise to your friend about anything but you only think about your own good or your friend's good without even considering A LOT OF MANY OTHERS. yes, and I mean it.
well, you should realise that by doing so, it may affect your relationship with others deeply. it may be good, it may be bad. either way, the bottom line is, you'll affect others.. especially the ones you love. you make a promise to your friend, and others close to you listens, your friend feels better and happy, others who are close to you will either be happy, neutral, or feel uneasy. but it's so often that they will not let you know about their uneasiness. that's the problem. if you're lucky, they will tolerate and see how far the promise goes.
usually, the person who feels uneasy but tolerates with it, will see how long will this promise last. he/she is actually hoping for the person who made the promise to change his/her mind. if he/she notices that the person finally change their mind, he/she will acknowledge that the person is being considerate and cares about his/her other friends. but if the person doesn't... then he/she may think that the person never give a thought about him/her but only care about the friend whom the person make promises to. this is where I meant by affecting others deeply. sucks to be anybody in that situation.
I mean.. please, don't make promises that can bring any friend down. even if you don't know what they're thinking or what they feel. my advice is, if you want to make a promise with a close friend, make sure that it involves you and your friend that you promised to ONLY. or better, don't make promises at all!
to whoever reading this.. I'm not saying that promises are bad. but don't let it affect others..
INCLUDING ME! xD
anyhow, thanks for reading.. and do leave comments(if you like)!
SEE YOU IN NEXT POST!
